Micro Animations are sometimes referred to as Microinteractions, but micro animations are not necessarily attached to an interaction. Micro animations are brief animations designed to help the user understand the design or flow of the software. Micro Animations can be as simple as a loading status bar, or as complex as a cartoon character give you the thumbs up that your task is complete.
